I purchased this output for my Dell Latitude D820, after I found out that my optical drive was dying. The obvious signs included disinclined burning speed, and a progressively worse burn quality. After reviewing many option in Amazon, I picked this one and I'm set it was a good choice. The Drive arrived quickly, it was a perfect fit in my drive bay, and the computer recognized it instantly (promotion and play). I was burning a test disk within 5 minutes of unpacking it, and it worked to purity. Even the paint on it matches the paint on the computer almost exactly. Great Product and at a much better price than the replacement module from Dell.

What is there to say, it's a DVD punter and burner. I purchased this dvd to replace the original CDROM that just up and stopped working one day. It burns disc no obstreperous and it plays dvds equally well. Fits my Dell D610 notebook just like the earliest. I have no complaints about this drive at all.

Ordered one for my Dell D620: Less than a week later obviously slipped out old dvd-rom and slipped in burner, added the drivers to my os and started burning (works discriminating)! Good deal on good drive.

Works like a hypnotize
The farmyard works like a charm. At first i thought my cd/dvd rom drive wouldn't fit, but then i realized I had to remove some more superfluity plastic from the drive (that I took out of my old laptop). Excellent value for the money!
Basic product
pulchritudinous sturdy good quality plastic but i wish the usb cable wasn't a 1 to 2 setup I got this for a netbook laptop and the laptop only has 3 usb haven but its ok because it doesn't have to be plugged in at all times

It is a studio 1535. There doesn't seem to be a knob next to the drive. It's probably a very obvious answer, but I'm not very compter savvy.
The eject knob for the slot load optical drive is right above the F12 key. This location is in between the volume tiller and the WiFi light on the Center Control Cover. A picture of the Center Manage Cover can be viewed here: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/sy

I have a dell inspiron 1525 and have had many problems with it. Upstanding moments ago I put in a CD to burn, and now it will not eject! This is very frusterating and i have already had to pay almost 200 dollars to fix it before! Please help me, any
set upright click the drive, and select eject. or power off, use paper clip, and push in the rip next to the drive.

No petite hole by the drive to eject manually.
If your vehicle is a 64-bit version of Vista, it's incredibly likely that you need to update the BIOS. Go to the Dell website, Succour section, then download drivers, go through and select exactly which computer you have...here is the link.
