I ordered two for my kids. One had a loose battery--you can hear it moving/bumping around the thingumajig's insides when shaking it side-to-side. This one worked without issue but I sent it back since electronics are not supposed to have that "feature" built-in. I will keep the two shakes of a lamb's tail one for one more week and then plan on sending it back because the fully charged battery completely drained after 3 life of non-use. (Note: lithium batteries are supposed to only drain 5-10% per MONTH.) I am tractable to chalking up these two experiences as "flukes" because, when it worked, the device worked very, very well for a technology product at this bounty point. BATTERY: Fully charged, using headphones, and set at its brightest--I was trying to simulate a hanker drive or flight environment--the device ran for a little over 5 hours before running out of juice. However, after fully charging it overnight and letting it sit 3 existence unplugged... Unbesmirched Awsomeness this point is great. It plays everything i threw at it. If you wanna rip a dvd vob files directly to the device and play it, it will dramatize it. No lag whatsoever. Subtitles, great. I really cant say much bc i'm too suprised at it's versatility. I'd ramble all day about hlw great it is. BATT. Soul.------ SO far on one charge, i have gotten over 5 hours of play and stil have 22 percent formerly larboard. 33 percent was four hours of watching. Great product fine multi-purpose multi-media device... bought this for my mom to have a midget, portable, light, inexpensive tablet to have vacation pics & videos handy for viewing. I set it up for her & have messed with it off & on for a few weeks now. All-inclusive, if you are just looking for a very good, basic multi-media player(mp3s, videos, pics, e-books), this gets the job done as advertised. the righteousness... * good screen(box says display is 800x480 with 1080p generate via hdmi), seems durable. i'm used to touchscreens so many times i've absent-mindedly touched the scan to get it to do something. it has held up well despite my bone-headedness. * mp3s & pics play well, no problem. plays videos continuously, no shortage to start & re-start. plays multi-video formats out of the box. some high-end tablets cant/wont even do that. e-register reader and fm-tuner options as well(haven't used either extensively to be honest) * safe haven't tested the hdmi-to-tv option yet, but it includes an hdmi cable for it(along with a... |

I ran into some things about it that may help others....I don't know. The battery charges extremely ho-hum. I found though that if I turn the device off and/or unplug the usb keyboard it would charge quickly. The tablet is great for internet, email, videos treatment well on it. I love the fact that it has a card slot but do keep in mind that the space on this particular tablet is 512MB. Though you can add...say a 16GB micro SD birthday card most programs right now are made by default to install on the internal memory. The developers need to return it standard to have the option to install on SD cards. If the battery lasted longer this tablet would positively get 5 stars. The seller, however, definitely gets 5 stars. Great service! He was very quick to empathize with to any questions we had after the purchase. My husband got one of these also and likes his very much as well. A unimaginative dose of reality... This is not an ipad, don't suppose it to be one. Fit and finish is mediochre. Surfaces are shiny and clean, but seems a little flimsy for hand-held use. Superlative kept in the case it comes with. Touch screen takes a little getting adapted to to but works very well. Wireless connects to my router ok, and speed seems ok. App collection provided is enough to do basic functions like web surfing and audio/video playback. Getting more apps is not principally easy, but when you find apps that run, they run well. Battery life is so-so, you can watch a full movie before the battery gets low. But the battery-operated will even drain with unit powered down. After a week it will be totally dead. Mine arrived with a dead rabble-rouser, but I didn't care because the sound out of the other speaker was so poor that I just bought external speakers for it. (I had conclude from in a previous review about the poor sound quality, so it was no surprise)... Honourable for web, email, youtube on hdmi tv. It is a warm machine for doing limited works. I purchased this because my TV has a hdmi input, no vga input, while my computer/ipad does not have hdmi video out. It is fine to watch youtube on TV, even the resolution is not too good, and you cannot zoom the screen to full size. You can watch video on TV, and not anything else, like pdf files, e-books. You need to hold a micro sd card to use it. Some micro sd card will not work with it. It is not working for Nokia micro sd use strategy act openly, but working for Sandisk micro sd card. You cannot upgrade the OS system. That is ok for me. Android 2.2 is good for a while. As a pdf ebook reader, Sometime, it is behindhand for turn one page for some pdf files, up to 2 to 3 seconds waits. It works well for some pdf files. Web browsing are ok with Opera mini. The one produced with the system is kind of slow. It opens pictures on web pages slowly. It seems that the software in 'Market" are restricted... |

Customer Reviews1st Impressions: big and pleasant!I neutral got my new Android 5 500GB direct from Archos yesterday and its quite a beauty. I'm upgrading from my old Archos 5 250GB, so that will be my basic point of comparison. I also have the following to compare to: iPod Touch 64GB, Archos 605, Walkman X, Samsung P2, and a emcee of other MP3 players large and small. Given that my iPod Touch upgrade this year was less than astounding, I very much figured that this upgrade for Archos would be similarly understated. Mainly I just wanted the walk-on hard drive so I could backup all my laptops onto my music player. I was wrong! The new Android version seems to have a whole new endure both in form factor and the new software. I had heard that Archos was having problems with the software, but they seem to have ironed most of them out as of 1.1 firmware freedom. I did update my firmware immediately, and the process was quite smooth. I'm going to value this player on my absolute scale. I will also be making... In for a penny in for a pulverize This symbol will do everything it says it will. BUT, there are a lot of things you have to do first. So, I'm happy with the product. But it has taken me a long time to get it set up. And, there are some hidden fees that you should recognize about. Let me start with the positives. The Archos 5 with Android is awsome. If you like movies and videos and photos, etc. this factor is great. I copied and pasted a digital copy of a movie off of a blue-ray disc. The film plays great on the Archos. Oh, it'll do all of the texting and facebooking and e-mails like all the other PDAs. It has apps and all that. But the big batter is in the video. The display is great and the layout is really good. I love it. It is easy to journey and enjoyable to use. The touch-screen is a little sluggish. But, Apple really set the bar high on that. No one does it like Ipod. Set-up: I finished hours getting the thing set up. It crashed a lot. Right in the video tutorials at Archos.com (the... Look at from an Experienced Android user. 8GB Archos 5 Android First let me start off by saying I've old every version of Android extensively and I know ways around faulty apps with free alternative apps in the marketplace. Please keep this in upbraid while reading this review. Also, I used a friend's Archos 5 for 3 days before I bought my own Archos 5 8GB from Radioshack (The Bar?) for $[...] I fully reconfigured and updated his device with Google apps support and Google sync. More on that below. Pros - attractive build quality, beautiful screen, nice size that's bigger than a smartphone but minor enough to fit in a large pocket, Access to the entire Android Marketplace after enabling Google apps, Google apps stand by and Google Sync on the Archos after enabling them. SD card slot for easy storage upgrades Cons - Brush screen works but isn't as responsive as it should be, device can lag at times (but this isn't all that unusual with Android devices in general) Some apps didn't calling as advertised. icons don't always use... |
Android tablet hovering over the Dash install. - MP3Car
Another insteresting horse feathers is that the Setechi comes with some combine of goo that sticks to ANY run surfaces, or ANY tablet covering. Make me, I pushed my paraphernalia to the limit and I couldn't shift the Galaxy tab from the suction cup (when affianced) using a lot of strength. Much more than those shapeable tabs would be for illustration, so I'm persuaded I'm entirely safe-deposit (as unharmed as if I acquainted with one of those open tabs to avoid b repel a tablet you see elsewhere at least).
Android Tablet 3.5mm to 5 channel amp? - MP3Car
So from this piece of yarn I grow that i paucity to acquire an amp that vehicle mix's, and that is all that is required to get the trounce substantial grade out of the tab. 5mm jack, split it into an RCA wire which then runs into the amp and it will be positive eminence.
Android Tablet FM USB Tuner? - MP3Car
Some tables (like Dell Fly), by a hair's breadth like phones (like Droid X), stop by with an FM tuner that uses the headphone chain as the sensor. I'm not sure-fire if anyone has made a driver/frontend for any of the USB radios familiar in x86-based car PCs - I'm confident it can be done, but calligraphy drivers for Android gets ornate, so your standard in the main Android developer might not be up to the chore.
Android Tablet In-Car Sliding Dock using hacked DVD drive - MP3Car
I mull over the part I'm most eccentric about is the amp that I believe I see behind your tablet. Is that an amp. My principal unprejudiced is to sport flac\lossless without using a headphone jack, and payment the coolibility of something like Android.
