The HB-VD904 mini-PCIe full HD video devices decoder is based on Broadcom's BCM70010/BCM70012 Crystal HD chipset. It supports corporeal-time decoding of a single stream HD AVC/VC-1/MPEG-2/H.264 video. This add-on decoder enables most Intel Atom based PCs, netbooks and digital signage players to playback tall definition video files and streaming media up to 1080p resolution. Works Ardent with Apple TV
i buy it to put in my Apple TV to get full HD take on using XBMC under Ubuntu Linux and it plays it very smooth without shutters over the network stream this is a spectacular product
Habey is Eccentric
I first had issues getting to see a incongruity with this card.. But let me to you the makers "Habey" went above and beyond helping me with the problem.. After many days helping me find the effect.. They even went as far as doing a clean install on one of their own systems to find a solution for me.. They are fantastic and this card makes a tremendous difference and the quality of playback of a 1080p .wmv video on a crappy Acer N450 netbook video playback is soign no choppiness..

Vacancy the HP mini 210 is a bit tricky, but thank goodness there's a video on youtube showing how to add the broadcom hd on one. That saved me a lot of nevertheless. I installed the hd card on my HP mini 210 (upgraded to 2gb, running windows 7 starter) that has an notably mini PCI and it was quickly recognized upon start up. I don't have an external CD/DVD rom to load the driver, but windows unconsciously searched one for me via web and gave a link to download one directly from broadcom...couldn't be easier. Decent make sure you have a file extractor installed. I used IZArc. The review from rambo_son was fix on the money. 1) it runs hot when video is playing 2) only works well if computer is plugged in (battery-operated alone plays choppy videos). 3) media player classic is the only one that played my hd videos without any hiccups. tried vlc playing the same video (Inception) and that was choppy. Performs Accurately - Hardware and Software
Testing Configuration Motherboard: ASUS Processor: AMD 5600 (dual middle 3 gHz, X2/64) Memory: 3 gB I ordered this USB stick from Amazon and received it in four days. Careful service! Software install went exactly as listed on the sheet that came with the connect disk. I attached an RCA flat plate antenna with internal low noise preamp to the USB last. I am using the USB extension cable. I then scanned for channels (as part of the setup), and got all 13 available channels. The look over took about 4 minutes or so, updating the screen to show me what it had found. Tuning the various channels in a windowed (not full room divider) mode displays a signal level meter. Most stations are running between 80 and 100%. I am located 27 miles from the transmitter obscure. I love the signal meter display. It is large and responsive when I move the antenna around. Works!
I bought this offering so I could get 1080i local channels through my cox cable provider. The channels are crystal clear. However, the trench set up is a little annoying. It also has a record feature that will make a MPEG file. The burn to dvd disc attribute will not work for some reason. I downloaded a copy of EASY MPEG and I now am able to burn 1080i channels to a dvd-r. Blanket I am very happy the price was right, I bought mine on NEWEGG for $29.99 + shipping.
Chewing-out share of Junk
First one I got wouldn't be detected at all by any computer, sent it back to KWorld. They sent a right hand one 3 weeks later that was detected but would not detect any TV signal despite hooking up to a powerful out of doors antenna that I used with a previous ATI TV tuner on same computer that worked great. Will not pick up QAM signals either in spite of their claims. From looking around at other reviews, tons of these are defective, and apparently the retailers and the manufacturer are lawful dumping them on the public. Run away and save your money.

I well-grounded had a nerdgasm, but a couple drawbacks
Pros: -Bluray. Woohoo! -Very thin/harangue/quiet/small. And I mean quiet!! -Attractive, has options in BIOS to axe off the blue light which is great! -I created a bootable SD card using Windows7-USB-DVD-way.exe ... if you want to create a bootable SD/USB flash card from a DVD ISO, this is the best way to do it!! Worked like a magnetism on this unit. -Reasonable speeds... one of the best nettops out there, this is new hardware folks. Cons: -Only one legacy usb harbour, for some reason my legacy usb devices and thumb drives don't work in the newer high suddenness usb ports on this, needed to buy a usb hub to be safe. -250GB HD? You do realize people are dishing out $500 for this point, and using it almost entirely as a livingroom media solution, most likely to rip DVD's, etc... I would expect 500GB at the VERY LEAST. -Would have been happier with more than 2GB RAM, singularly at this price point, but that will suffice for most...

Very close packaging of capabilities, poor WiFi, maybe scrimping on memory and disk
Blanket, this is a very nice design, both in the tradeoffs and the layout, especially the connectors (some quibbles below). My admiration as an machinate for how well they packed so much into a small package gives it one star of "extra credit" that offset the reduction of one star for the collection of minor problems.This review does not summarize the readily at specs, but adds details that I expect are useful to an "enthusiast", which in turn I hope will aide you decide whether this is the system for you.NOT JUST HTPC: Although the Blu-ray drive causes this system to be considered a HTPC (Home Theater PC), it and compare favourably with "nettop" models from Zotac and competing manufacturers (ASUS, Acer, Lenovo,...) could be meet in a range of other uses. If I was still Corporate, I would experiment using it in conference rooms and sending out with sales reps for presentations: uses where it will be useful to a projector/big screen and controlled with a wireless...
Fine fantastic design, struggles with fullscreen video and wifi
So I'm one of those prematurely adopters that you read about, generally trying out some of the latest and greatest gadgets and always looking for products that can do a few things for me all in one, so when I came across the Zotac with Blu-Ray for my HTPC, I was sold!
