I purchased this output for my Dell Latitude D820, after I found out that my optical drive was dying. The obvious signs included past it burning speed, and a progressively worse burn quality. After reviewing many option in Amazon, I picked this one and I'm sure it was a good choice. The Drive arrived quickly, it was a perfect fit in my drive bay, and the computer recognized it instantly (blurb and play). I was burning a test disk within 5 minutes of unpacking it, and it worked to pinnacle. Even the paint on it matches the paint on the computer almost exactly. Great Product and at a much better price than the replacement piece from Dell.

What is there to say, it's a DVD gamester and burner. I purchased this dvd to replace the original CDROM that just up and stopped working one day. It burns disc no uncontrollable and it plays dvds equally well. Fits my Dell D610 notebook just like the ingenious. I have no complaints about this drive at all.

Ordered one for my Dell D620: Less than a week later na slipped out old dvd-rom and slipped in burner, added the drivers to my os and started burning (works mulct)! Good deal on good drive.

I did not acquire the dvd+rw burner it was a cd burner. It was supposed to be new but it was obviously used. It also didn't fit into my dell laptop. I sent an email to the seller but no answer.

My old, old inspiron was delayed and the CD player, burner was not working at all. Just order this, pull out the old and pop in the new one and you are ready to go. Great way to upgrade and not have to buy a new computer!!!

It is a studio 1535. There doesn't seem to be a knob next to the drive. It's probably a very obvious answer, but I'm not very compter savvy.
The eject knob for the slot load optical drive is right above the F12 key. This location is in between the volume tiller and the WiFi light on the Center Control Cover. A picture of the Center Manage Cover can be viewed here: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/sy

What to do?
No petite hole by the drive to eject manually.
If your vehicle is a 64-bit version of Vista, it's incredibly likely that you need to update the BIOS. Go to the Dell website, Succour section, then download drivers, go through and select exactly which computer you have...here is the link.
