The Land Makes It
The duo itself makes a magnificent small (10.1") computer and is quite capable even though it is a tad slow but it's not a powerhouse desktop either. When the Duo is added to the Drop anchor it makes a fine pair. Sound from the stand alone Duo is minimal and barely a strength; however, when the Quay is added it makes a significant difference but, again, it is not a large set of stereo speakers either. I usually to mine on in the morning and let it run most of the time just to hear the background, music or internet radio. I use an 8Gig exhibition drive to hold music and pictures; however, when I pair it with the desktop it will take several thousand Picasa pictures and show pictures all day. This is not a panel but a netbook computer and well worth it. When it's time to go to the doctor and wait for what seems like forever I have my handy laptop and can use it for about 3 hours since my docs function has wireless.

Beloved computer, if only it worked
I bought this computer because it was a shamed and tablet and it had decent specs for a netbook. When it works it's great. It runs windows 7 wonderfully for web browsing and paper editing. It is lacking in reliability.I had to send it back to Dell 1 month after I purchased it because it wouldn't turn on. Dell replaced the motherboard. Around 5 months after the first service I had to send it back in to have the palm rest(touch pad) repaired. Now, 2 months after the second service and 8 months after purchase it won't turn on again and is going to be sent back.I don't know about the rest of the world but I don't wait for to have a computer fail 3 times in less than 9 months. I have had 2 other Dell laptops which have had no problem this model is poor quality and not up to dell's usual standards, or they have lowered their standards

Fabulously Fun, but itsy-scrappy battery charge
I have been waiting to get this. I devotion the multiplicity of it, but the battery charge is barely usable! I had an HP mini with a battery usage facility of NINE (9) hours! I knew this wasn't going to be THAT good, but didn't expect to have to instruction it repeatedly in ONE (1) day!! I'm a full-time college student as well s a homeschooling mom of 6, I do NOT like to be tied to a publicity! If there were anything else wrong with this, I would send it back ASAP! However, I will learn to make do. Just wanted to share this tidbit for anyone else that needed that small piece of 411!

Wondrous little machine
I got this a week ago and have been playing with it nonstop since. There are three things you requisite to be aware of when purchasing this: 1) The screen is even smaller than on most netbooks because of the flip design. The versatility more than makes up for it though. 2) The freestyle is not removable and is good for about 3 hours. 3) Windows 7 Home Premium only likes to on account of drives on other machines running Windows 7. My home PC was running Vista. It could look at and admission the drives on the Duo; but the Dou will only look at drives in it's Homegroup. Only Windows 7 supports homegroups. I upgraded my desktop to Windows 7 About Premium and now they network amazingly well. Setup was a snap. I have thick fingers, but I haven't found that I need to use the stylus (bought individually) with it. The keyboard is well laid out. The touch screen took a little getting used to. Long-drawn-out Fail (to) Beautiful & Slow
I will be updating this magazine in about two weeks, but I think what has happened with the product so far warrants review as it's an experience I would want to have knowledge of about when making my purchase. I currently have an iPad but was given the opportunity to review the Dell Inspiron Mini Duo. My first brand out of the box was that this is an impressive product. The casing appeared to be high quality, with good button answer and a firm swivel to the screen. The back was much nicer than my iPad, the grip is smooth and comfortable. Surely on specs alone I was extremely interested in what this tablet / laptop combination had to offer. During set up I was also impressed with the the ease of using the hold a candle to pad. (Non-responsive lap top touch pads are a key issue for me.) All the signs were good. Setup took an darned long time, with what seemed to be numerous unneeded 'I Agree' and set up screens. Hardly guy packs a lot of punch!
We got this computer Saturday and have not stopped playing with it. My first impressions were that the volume was perfect and the flip screen was an excellent added bonus. Just the flip hide alone would make me buy this over other computers, and then the fact that it is a touchscreen sealed the deal. All in all this, is a wonderful mini computer with a few flaws, but nothing that is a reckon with breaker. This computer comes with all the features standard on Windows 7. Also comes with a trial adaptation of Microsoft Office, but I do not find the need to buy the license since this is not my primary computer. Overheats & scarce cable
It works... that's about all I can honestly say about it. However... It overheats if its charging an empty/partially drained battery. But if it's just powering a fully charged mobile, it's ok. Otherwise, it can literally burn your hand. It got to the point of letting off a melting plastic smell. Not what I would call unhurt. As for the cables, extremely short. Keep your old cable that plugs into the outlet. Even the adapter end cable is still actually short compared to the OEM version. And DO NOT TRUST THE PICTURE!!! What you see is NOT what you get. Mine is double the size of what's shown, fragile plastic construction, weak. It works... that's what I can say. Everything else is just plain bad.

Not Moderately What was Advertised...
Candidly, the product is working just fine. However, I have to say there's a bit of false advertisement here, whether it is an accident or some weird mix up. The artifact page specifies a 90w, 19v 4.74amps power supply. What I got was rated 65w, 18.75v 3.5amp. Amazon, narrate the guy selling this to fix their ad. Sure it works, but if my computer were to ever use up that 65w, then it'll be random shutdown time. I'll be keeping a close eye on this. Ahead to a follow up...

My Dell laptop beeps randomly every 20 mins or so. The beeping rumbling the the same beep you hear when you plug/unplug a USB cable. I dont have any USB devices plugged in, so it cant be a loosen cord. Anyone have any idea on how to stop this?

My computer is a Dell Inspiron 1525...it beeps 3 times (sounds like it's beeping IN the keyboard) and then it says something and won't start...any thoughts what could be wrong with it or how I can diagnose what's wrong?
if it's made by dell its most undoubtedly useless now. what does the message say? how old is it? if its in warranty then lucky you. but if not, gutted.
