Furthermore, this paragon supports both 12 cm & 8 cm discs. And the Manual Disc Eject function can let the disc ejected even when the power is off!Customer ReviewsEssence!i like to keep my reviews unpretentious.this dvd burner is simply perfect.it's smaller than the previous model from Samsung. the touch unfurl feature is quite nifty. very light and quiet when i burned a few dvd's. i've connected it to my PC & MacBook Air 11" with no problems on either one. this is a much crap-shooter option over the Apple SuperDrive. the SuperDrive can ONLY be used on the MB Air's. it's more expensive than most external dvd burners. why would you craving to get it?Edited: i forgot to mention that i use this DVD burner for both my desktop and laptop. unfortunately on my laptop there are only 2 USB ports. one on each side. the MacBook Air is rank of limited in that area. in any case, the DVD burner WILL WORK with only one USB cable slot plugged in. i dream up it may run a bit slower if you are burning something though, which will probably be due to the power outage limit that USB ports have.do yourself a favor and get this if you shortage an... A ticklish external drive, but a little disappointing I've Euphemistic pre-owned this drive with a windows 7 desktop, Windows XP desktop, iMac running Snow Leopard 10.6.5, and MacBook pro match Snow leopard 10.6.6. The drive works great, good speed, sound use. I would say the most frustrating part of this product is that it has no power-cord and requires two USB ports to operate. occasionally it will (randomly it seems) effort with only one USB port, but I have only seen that on occasion. I am very disappointed with this part of the drive, however aside from that it has worked flawlessly. I've burned DVD at full expedite in both Windows 7 and Mac OS X. It is compact, and requires very little to setup, simply just plugin and use. When I installed this by-product using the discs that came with it in Windows 7 it brought me into this very confusing application that claimed I needed a firmware update, however when I checked on the website it said I did not.conclusionIt's a unmixed product that works well under most operating systems. Be prepared... True drive that works with Mac and PC I bought this for use with my new MacBook Air and my composed serverThings I like:1. Very compact. About a size of a double cd case2. Very hushed for such a compact drive. Just a bit noisier than my internal dvd drive.3. Requires only one usb mooring. Some drives need 2 usb ports, but this one runs fine on just one.4. Plug and frivolity. No drivers needed. Works great on Mac and PC.5. A steal at $40 shippedThings I don't like so much:1. The trifling form factor is cool, but the black version looks and feels plastic. I'm not saying that it's diaphanous, because it's not. However, next to my new Mac Air, it looks and feels kinda cheap2. The soft touch eject doesn't exertion on Mac. You have to drag the icon to eject.3. The Nero 9 software works with PC only.Highly recommended for anyone looking for a pocket, simple dvd drive that works with both Mac and PC.

Ideal companion for Laptop CD-RW DVD RW Burners, easy vehicle, endurable. USB2.0 External SLIM Enclosure, The Drive is not included! Supported Disc: For choosing slim enclosure for your laptop DVD burner: Customer ReviewsMomentous INFO FOR MACBOOK USERS!Very upright to use. just pop it in and connect the plug and snap it shut! there are 2 screw holes in the back which may or may not line up with the holes in your fastidious optical drive. I just want to make a few points for people using this for the superdrive on a macbook pro 2011. 1: you poverty to take off the little metal bracket on the back of the superdrive in order for it to fit. (you could use that bracket to secure your optibay to your macbook on the generic ones that dont finish with a way to secure it) 2: One of the screwholes on the back will line up with the screwhole on the back of the superdrive, I used that to secure the suprdrive to the patient and ensure that the SATA connection wont become loose over time. 3: As mentioned there is no front bezel to take over the opening to the superdrive. While this is merely cosmetic, there might be a problem if dust gets inside. I would endorse storing it in some kind of case or plastic ziploc bag when not in use, to protect it from dust... Correct for my needs I removed my optical high-pressure in my Mid 2010 MBP for a second HD,but I still wanted to use my optical drive when neededso I looked for an enclosure to m with.I searched long and hard for a good optical drivebut cheap.I finally sure on thisand to my surprise,it works perfectly. The enclosure may be a "little" bigger than the MBP internal optical drivebut there's clarification to work around it.What I did was stuff anti-static covers to stabilize the optical drive. To me,it worksas it helps stabilize the effort, provide anti-static protection against the driveand it also looks "cool"(The item comes with two usb cords, one to tie the dvd driveand the other to power the drive. What I've found out is that the connecting usb drive aloneis enough power to power the full dvd drive. No need for the second "power" usb.)All in all,its a... OK for something that will be in a drawer most of the heyday I bought this to up the DVD-RW Superdrive from my 2011 Macbook Pro when I installed an SSD in the optical bay. The USB to SATA interface works well, and I can boot the MacOS X Invest CD with the drive connected to a USB port. However, the bezel that is included doesn't fit the slot loading enterprise (obviously), so the front of the drive is uncovered. Also, the metal tabs that are used to secure the drive stomach the computer protrude slightly past the plastic case. The case has two screws in the back to hold the steer in place and the case closed. However, the Superdrive only has a single screw hole in the back. As a result, the whole element is held together by a single screw. There's also too much vertical space for the slim Superdrive, so I attached a short story of foam tape to the top of the drive and stuck it to the top of the case. All in all, this is a workable solution for me. I rarely use the optical motor, and as a result, this unit will spend the majority of...
Thinkpad Mini Dock Series 3 (433710U)
Details
DescriptionLenovo 433710U ThinkPad Dock is fancied for notebook users who need easy.Customer ReviewsBreaks with the before (off go most 'legacy' ports), telecommuters 'must have'BRIEFLYIf you already have the older ThinkPad Ahead of its time dock, the Series 3 adds 2 more USBs and loses most legacy ports. However, the older 'Highly developed Mini-Dock' will support both the T60's and the T400 and, in my view, the Series 3 is not worth an upgrade unless you MUST have those 2 further USBs or are totally annoyed by the presence on the back of a large parallel port for printers that no one is using any more.If you are shopping for your first medico, by all means, get the Series 3.EXPANDED DISCUSSION AND RATINGI am still using the at home with my T400 after it served me well for some 3 years with a T60 but my governor decided that the new T400 deserved a new docking station and, here it is, the Series 3 dock on my... Works Well Except For DisplayPort I won't go over what others have already said Non-Standard irregardless the port options for the Series 3 Mini Dock except to say that it has all the connectivity I generally need and still allows use of the ports that are aboriginal to the laptop. One area that I would caution on is the DisplayPort interface. I have a Lenovo T410S and a Dell 3007 WFP (30" exhibit - 2560x1600 native resolution). While the graphics chipset in my laptop is fully able of driving this resolution, it can only do so through the DisplayPort connector on the laptop. Connecting through the DisplayPort adapter on the Series 3 Mini Sawbones results in graphics driver crashes, black screens and a maximum display plan of 12800x800 in Windows 7 Enterprise. The 1280x800 resolution limit is favourite due to the lack of a hardware graphics scaler in the monitor, other monitors may achieve higher resolutions but will not reach 2560x1600. I am still using the Mini Repair but have to manually connect the DisplayPort cable directly to... Well recommended Works wonderfully with my ThinkPad T410. Highly recommended if you frequently take your notebook from home to office to domestic to school... |
