Population need to be aware that the reviews you see for the iPad often reflect the old Mac/PC platform wars with some people making comments who barely don't like iPads from a distance, without actually owning one, because they see it as part of the deplorable Apple mania they find so repugnant. I have purchased both an iPad2 and Xoom for singular family members. I thought it worth comparing the two devices for anyone interested. Many of my comments are self-serving so bear that in mind when reading the review.External appearance and feel:The iPad2 screen has a contrary feel from the Xoom screen - the iPad2 is a bit slicker, less likely to stick when moving short distances. The riddle on the Xoom tends to show fingerprints more than the Ipad2 for some reason. Everyone in this family thinks that the iPad2 looks sharper than the Xoom.Both weigh 1.6 lbs. Subjectively, the Xoom feels heavier than the Ipad2, but it's an chimera perhaps caused by it's slightly smaller size. I just recently bought the iPad and wanted the opportunity of having a regular keyboard......I have to say that this keyboard is awesome! It's not wireless however it also works as a water down. Your iPad charges while connected to it. The only thing that I noticed was that it didn't have a backspace button but I'm not sure whether or not all Apple keyboards have a backspace knob because I'm not that familiar with the Apple line of products. I'm used to having a backspace button as well as a eliminate button and this keyboard only has a delete button so you basically have to move the cursor to avoid deleting the communication that you want other than that the keyboard works fine. The only other thing is that your iPad stands completely vertical. There is no way to tip it so if you're use to being able to tilt a screen for added comfort, you're not able...

Bought one as give-away - then bought one for me
I bought one as talent for person with iPad I wanted to try it out to make sure that it actually worked. So, I used it with my iPod come up to. It worked great. So great that I ended up ordering one for me, too. Certainly makes typing event much easier.My only criticisms are two. One, is that items can ONLY be docked one way. The dock would be so much more useful if items could be docked vertically or horizontally. Assistant, it is not really very travel friendly - sort of awkward size and weight - certainly not a loyal pocket item and almost certainly too big for many iPad bags. On the other hand, the size and weight probably makes the moor much more durable. Anyway, nice item.You can charge iPod touch or iPad while item is docked. You can also assign speakers to dock - if you desire. Charging worked fine while docked, but no charging telegram is included.
