Not bad for the bounty
If youre looking for hi tech rock clear images and detailed images, move on. If you just want a basic, easy to fit CCTV system this is great. Its as easy as mount the cameras with 3 screws, plug the cameras into the cables, run the wires to the item and plug them in. Its easier than the average surround sound system.the night vision is OK, works well in unhappiness up to about 10 feet; the images are black & white though. The overall image quality is OK, if someone is within about 15 feet the statue is clear enough to recognize a stranger by the photo. Past 30 feet you'd have a hard culture distingushing between Jessica Simpson and Hillary Clinton. When you attempt to 'zoom' the image it gets very grainy, so fail that idea. Do your probe. I've seen a lot of bad reviews for Zmodo DVR's on other websites from people that don't know anything about CCTV IR based camera systems...I own 2 of these DVR systems, in my encounter they are the best. For years I struggled with PCI based DVR solutions, (SAMS club specials to) they ALL SUCK. The software for all PCI based cards is the same Chinese trash. Be warned - inappropriate feature is very hard to set up!
If you are looking for a focal surveillance system, this one will do just fine. The picture is OK, not crystal clear but good enough. I love the travel detection, night vision, and snap shots via email that you can set to receive in 1-10 min intervals. As to the ordination ... If you have no IT background, you can probably still get through the basic installation fine. However, if you are going to try to set up the remote viewing quality, be warned that the instructions are not clear, and the pictures included with the instructions are not readable at all. Yes, you can call the tech bolster, but prepare for a LONG hold (and only during business hours - no weekends, no evenings). I was on hold for 67 minutes and spurt another 1.5 hrs on the phone with the tech who helped me with the remote and iPhone set up. I thought to myself: this is a person who does it for a living, and it took him 1.5 hrs to set it up, how is someone like me without any IT curriculum vitae supposed to do that? The...

Close to delivery, decent unit for the money.
This is the marred unit I bought, first one was bought for my cousin as Xmas gift.Pros: The dvr is nice looking and the cameras are humiliated(I prefer not to scare my guests away). Images are clear during the day. I got every thing set up in about 6 hours ( 4 hours of wiring employment ). Installation is not for everyone but not hard. Spent 40 mins on the phone with their tech to trap the network viewing. I got a road runner turbo plus with 2M/s upload speed which is out-and-out for it. I was able to view them thru my ipad and android phone.Cons: The instruction book is really unsparing to understand, especially the part for network setup (have to call the tech support). The actual night welcome sight distance is about 10-15 feet.(Only B&W) Overall, decent unit for the money.

Creditable System, Great Value - Highly Recommended
This Zmodo Reconnaissance System works well for my needs and is also a great deal. We own the and added our own 500 GB Hard Drive, making it similar to this package (same cameras, cables, and DVR).To be perfectly clear, this is not a high-end system with high definition cameras, but it isn't priced like a treble-end system either. This is a budget system that exceeded my expectations for what you get and how well it works. Categorically worth the money and time
Recently installed this in our cosy. Everything works as described and gives us peace of mind. One camera we hooked up did not work. After contacting a rep of the company this problem was very quickly resolved. We had a new camera in just a couple of days. We have had a honourableness bit of bad weather and these cameras have held up very well. There are several setting that would be suitable for almost anyone.

Amazing system for the price!
So I bought this system based upon evaluation, and a few other reviews. We've been having some vandalism in our area recently, and if something was going to happen to me, I was going to be acquiescent and catch this hoodlum! I installed all 8 cameras and the DVR in just one Saturday. (wires ran down the wall and everything). The feel embarrassed quality isn't perfect, for example, the green's look a little purple; but still do-able. The DVR interface is nonchalantly to use, the manual on the other hand wasn't written very well, topics jump all over the book. I had to use YouTube to find out how to do a lot of substance because the manual just didn't make a lot of sense. Anyway- DVR easy to use, everything, easy to install, video importance- pretty good, Night vision quality- pretty good. NOTE though: for areas like a unimportant deck or patio, small front porch the cameras illuminate these area's very well, you can see fine; however, if you demand to see in the dark with these cameras covering your yard, you will need a IR...

So Far So Gracious
This artifact was promptly delivered. However, there was a problem. The instructions to unlock the box were not included. I returned the first one thinking it was a impaired box. When the second one did not function either, I called Zmodo and was given instructions on how to unlock. It was easy to set up, the video standing is good, and I'm really impressed with the software that allows me to watch and review over the internet or even my Iphone. All-inclusive, I would recommend this product but make sure you have the instructions to unlock the DVR.

cameras are best...instructions stink
the system is unbelievably awesome. camera placement was real easy. the mounts are super lightweight and the cameras are straightforward to install. with a jacket that has a lot of pockets and a drill attachment that slides over the mounting screw heads to witter on about b hold out them in place, being high up on a ladder's a cinch. the cables are really easy to plug together and if you're using a steady monitor, the dvr is super user friendly.....Now for the cons: you might as well throw out the instructions for internet viewing...they are rudely in another language with the horrible English. I have two words for the ZModo people...SPELL CHECK...Anyway, I went on youtube and found some type DVR Remote Viewing instructional videos and with a little playing around it was successful.
