Customer ReviewsComfortable to use, sounds pretty good: great value for moneyI was looking for a lecturer that would connect to the wireless net in my home, not a dock for an iPhone or something. I didn't want to spend a fortune on an Airplay tub-thumper so B&W and such were out. That limits the choice right now to the iHome and this Philips unit. The Philips was $100 cheaper, and is from a reliable brand, so that's what I got.The unit looks very nice. Not cheap at all. There is a quickstart guide, which unfortunately does not take into account my use case: it covers the cases of streaming from iPhone and such, and connecting to certain routers. No matter, in the vade-mecum it says to connect your browser to 196.168.you.know.what and specify your home network. Didn't line the first time, but try again, and there it was in my iTunes speakers list. After this easy setup, the network connectivity is problemless. Take the spieler to a different room, plug it in, it blinks its blue light for a little bit, beep, and it's on your network. Genuinely... A few kinks, normal sound quality This spieler is a handsome "wireless" speaker with good sound and support for Apple's AirPlay technology. The defence that I refer to it as "wireless" is that it does have a power cable so you'll still have one wire no matter what!SETUPWhile AirPlay couldn't be easier to configure, before you can have AirPlay, you'll desideratum to get this speaker configured onto your wireless network. The AD7000W comes with a huge color getting started guide to usurp you add it to your wireless network. One complaint about the getting started guide is that the instructions were cluttered up with 6 manifold languages so it was hard to figure out where the English text for the next step was without hunting around a bit.I tried both mechanisms for configuring my wireless take up the cudgels for and had mixed results. When I tried following the wifi configuration using my iPhone, it could not connect to my wireless network. The segment doesn't give you any good feedback as to what went wrong so... Polite Functionality and Sound For Its Size Brief: I'm happy with this small speaker. I think it is a very good solution for people looking to addendum their existing sound systems and for people with modest audio demands.Update 1/13/12: Some population are reporting significant problems joining WiFi networks or getting various devices to power this speaker. Others are reporting quality control issues. Save for the minor issues listed below, none of these great problems have occurred with our unit. I am sorry if you purchase this speaker and it does not perform as it has for us. I can only description our actual experience.Sound-As I wrote regarding another small speaker system, there is no point moaning about how this speaker doesn't provide full sound. Show me a 10 watt system that is 12x7x3 inches that can compete with any obliging traditional speaker arrangement. Yes, there are some amazing little boxes out there, but ultimately there is a tradeoff when you farther down the power and physical... | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Denon AVR2112CI Integrated Network A/V Surround Receiver
Details
DescriptionTake restraint of your home theater with the AVR-2112CI from Denon. This versatile AV receiver features 6 HDMI inputs and an output as well as part, composite, and USB inputs to accommodate all your entertainment sources. 3D pass-through and Audio Return aqueduct capabilities make this receiver even more attractive. An ethernet port opens up even more options with internet boom box and other streaming capabilities.Customer ReviewsRenowned Home Theater Receiver! My 6 year old Onkyo TX-SR502 was an entrance level AV Receiver and it was time to upgrade. It didn't have HDMI connectivity and didn't have an onscreen reveal. It also did not have an auto speaker setup and I wasn't quite able to configure them myself to produce adept sound. We also noticed lip sync problems when watching DVDs on our PS3. So after much research, I stony that my second receiver would be the Denon AVR-2112CI.First, I'll address the issues listed above. I now have my DirecTV and PS3 wired to the recipient via HDMI and my Wii connected using component cables. From there, we have one HDMI cable running from the recipient to the TV. Using this connection scheme, we seemed to eliminate the lip sync issue when watching DVDs and were also gifted to eliminate any delay when playing video game systems between the controls and the actual on mesh action. The onscreen display is great for a few reasons. It was nice to have something to look at while setting up... Gracious, but Airplay is not perfect yet. I've had my AVR-2112CI for about 2 weeks. I bought it for two reasons. I have an odd sized room with hardwood floors and odd orator placement (4 ceiling speakers are centered on 4 vaulted parts of the ceiling with the forefront over a fireplace in a corner). I needed the Audyssey MultEQ XT to get the sound right. Secondly, I wanted the use of Airplay for our two iphones and our ipad 2.The MultiEQ XT is adept! I have nothing but praise for the difference it has made over my old Onkyo receiver. The sound is very full and I have had several people comment on the sound character.Airplay started off with problems. I tried hooking it up with two different repeaters with no success (sound was continually breaking up). I then tried using Trendnet 200 mbps powerline. I had the same facer with the music cutting out and for some reason my internet was getting cut out every day. Finally, I hired some professionals to fix my old cat5e telegram that needed to be... Fabulous Sound! I can not chant the praises of this receiver high enough. I spent an awful lot of time researching what Airplay capable recipient to buy and settled on two, this and the Pioneer 1121K. I had originally considered getting the Denon 1912 but Batpig's pass on avsforum.com convinced me to upgrade to the 2112 for the better calibration system. Having a hell of a epoch trying to decide between this and the Pioneer, I ordered both and decided to try them in my home hooked up to a set of fantastic Liveliness Take Classic speakers. The result: the Denon blew the Pioneer away. Now maybe Put in motion's MCACC calibration system just can't compare to Denon's incredible Audessy MQ and perhaps with some tweaking it would have approached the Denon in uninjured quality but I figured if Pioneer couldn't get that right, what else didn't they get right. Whereas the Denon is precious stone clear with every note distinct and crisp, the Pioneer had a muddled, muted sound to it. Both I and my spouse could not have the courage of one's convictions pretend the... |

Airplay not shown on iPhone?
My iPhone 4 cannot see my airport express as a rabble-rouser. In fact, it does not even show the airplay logo in iPod. I have the current firmware, and they are both on the same network. Express works satisfying with computer.
Yeah, I have a nearly the same problem where none of my iOS4 devices can see my Apple TV (1st generation), but it can see my AirPort Express. Apparently, some older devices that supported AirTunes are no longer supported under AirPlay.
