I own a , the forebear to this product and one of the most popular wireless presenters on Amazon. As I wrote in my 4-star review of that gadget back in March of this year: "One way that Kensington could make their next model more useful would be for the USB adapter to double as a thumbdrive. Since you'll be plugging it into the hostess computer anyway, why not put your presentation on it?"My prayers were answered.This model is practically identical to its predecessor; why mess with a safe design? When I received the Kensington Wireless Presenter, I was hoping it would usurp me with my Powerpoint Presentations which I give to my students. I'm an elementary school librarian, and often have to sit desk-bound behind the clutch while they watch the screen and instruct them while they are facing away from me. This "wireless presenter" (which is simply a mutual remote control/laser pointer) is very handy in allowing me to stand in front of the children, by the shield and point and click my way through Powerpoint presentations without having to stand by the computer. Simply load the unveiling onto the flash-drive which is included, start the presentation from the flash-drive, and then direct it into consideration or back using the remote. Preferably than before
I've in use accustomed to both this version and the previous version of this device and have found a few significant changes.First, the laser button also puts Powerpoint into performance mode, a feature absent on the previous model. However, rather than presenting the current screen in delivery mode, it goes to the first page of the presentation. I could see this being a disadvantage if you want to use your laser pointer while being in the conformist view mode. However, others had previous complained that there was not a way of automatically going back into presentation mode if you by accident exit out of presentation when you're on the last slide -- something that this feature really doesn't fix.The USB transmitter that plugs into the computer is just about half the size in the new version, which is nice, given the bulky size of the previous understanding.The device now runs on AAA batteries instead of a smaller, disc-type battery. I turtle-dove the Kensington presenters. The best aspect of them is the simplicity. If I am running a conference, I can just share it to speakers (academics mainly) and they can use it right away. So having a new version taking AA batteries was very sexy. It's not that the old disk batteries were that bad: I just never had a small screwdriver to get to them!This new version has some improvements: the USB thingy now stays in its holder more intelligent, so it doesn't fall out in my backpack. The overall feel of the presenter is good. But I need to find a trifling screwdriver, put in a new disk battery, go back to my old presenter and give this one to someone else. As others have noted, pushing the laser has the side effect of sending an F5 to the system. No question if in powerpoint, but for any other program, this leads to all sorts of weird behavior. For instance, when I switch from powerpoint to emblazon something in Excel and press the laser, up pops a "Go to" window...

Comparability of several presenters
I've compared about 5 or 6 presenters in real use for a corporate application. All work well and get the job done. This one worked flawlessly -- plugs in, recognized by pc, and buttons are working forthwith. The functionality is limited to 4 buttons though and a laser, which is fine for basic needs. If that's all you need (mail, back, stop, laser), then this is a good choice. I prefer the Logitech for the added convenience of having a aggregate control and timer, but if those features aren't important, this is an equally good unit.

Significant presentation pen
I tried this out for a certainly I gave this summer. Works great. There is a stiffness to the buttons, and a silent "click" manipulate that occurs when you press the buttons. I found this to be an advantage over other "slushy" buttons where it was difficult to know if you clicked the knob.Love the AAA battery. Seems to last quite a while. I was really sick and tired of having to hunt around for CR2032 or be like flat batteries.I was a little wary about the laser pointer. On previous presentation devices, the laser handle always seems to get pressed while the device is in your pocket or briefcase. Then, to my dismay, I discover the battery is dead.That is not a mind-boggler here. The buttons are stiff enough to resist inadvertent pressing.All in all, this is a great little presentation pen. It is meant to move forward or backward through a set of slides. It doesn't have the useless "mouse pointer" crud that other devices have (which always exertion...

I attraction this thing.. I paid $18 for it, it takes a AAA Battery (instead of hard to find coin batteries like other devices), and the USB dongle stores stomach the thing, so you won't lose it.For the 3 reasons above, I decided to buy this presentation remote. I received it today (so I can't converse in for endurance or long term quality). The laser is nice and bright. There's an on/off switch that seems to inscrutable-disconnect the battery, so it shouldn't drain when you're not using it. The buttons click a little loudly, and blanket it doesn't seem very high quality, but it's not bad at all. Finally, it worked plug-and-play on my Windows 7 and Powerpoint 2007 without problems.

It works gossamer
If you reasonable need an inexpensive slide advancer for the classroom, this one is a good one. The size is nice (not undeniably lost) only has 3 buttons (laser, forward and back) and the usb remote turns on instantly when plugged in and can be stored nicely in the clicker. I exhort it highly.

I am prevalent to use this as my personal computer and also to work remotely. I use a windows based PC at work and use Microsoft products (Beat, PPT, etc). However, when I work remotely I actually tap into my work computer. This means a MAC is compatible.
Well if you dont intellect paying $2000 for $600 worth of computer hardware, no possible chance of upgrading munitions, and dont mind paying $100 for a win7 copy so you can use bootcamp to load win7 on your mac, Then by all means get a mac.
