jBuds are Ear Buddies
These were my fourth team up of earbuds and the most impressive I've owned. The wiring and connections are solid and reinforced. I've replaced earbuds when the wiring breaks or the valid volume becomes unequal.I'm hard on earbuds. My workday starts late in the morning and lasts until last in the evening. I need to still be asleep when the gardeners come with their leaf blowers and weed whackers. Earbuds be of assistance a dual purpose: they keep sound out and give me pleasant sounds to sleep by. Being a bit of an insomniac, my MP3 player helps me to concur with asleep each night as well. This is tough on earphones.I'm impressed with the construction of these buds. Stress points are well reinforced and objectionable to fail. But ruggedness isn't the primary reason for buying phones ... sound status is.These are second to none when it comes to sound quality. Bass is solid with no distortion. The midrange and highs are crumbly and clear. I've listened to everything from hip-hop...
J2s are OK, but there are advance out there
I compared these J2 earbuds as soon as with a pair of Sennheiser CX300 Earbuds that I bought and reviewed here on Amazon last year. I played some Ella Fitzgerald, Audio Alchemy and Brian Culbertson. I immediately noticed a difference in sound. The Sennheisers had more 'self-possession' -- the highs were clearer and the vocal range (around 1000Hz) was brighter and more natural. The J2s sounded a bit unclear or muffled in comparison.That said though, listening is a very subjective experience. I listen for natural sounding vocals and hearing instruments. I like a 'live' sound and not overdone or muddy bass. Just to get a unalike perspective, I did the same music test with my 14 year old son and his two friends. I played for them Life in the Fixedly Lane by the Eagles and let them switch between the two earbud sets. They hands-down chose the J2s over the Sennheisers. So much for my perception. :-)I think I'd conclude that if you like bass-heavier, mid-range type...

Gracious Step Up From Apple Earbuds
As Apple headphone replacements, these are very beneficent headphones. Purely on an audio basis, these leave a lot to be desired, highs are muted.September 10, 2009 Update: Wow JLabs continues to be remarkable. In the middle of the summer, the audio jack separated from the headphone wires. Essentially making the headset useless. They got a ton of play by my son who loved the design. A few emails to JLabs and no response. After a month or so and a few emails, I gave up. Oh well, go buy some new headset, and call it a day. Well this past week I got an email saying they were sorry about not responding. Another email back with no intention that they would sympathize with. Oh my goodness was I wrong this evening. They are standing behind these broken headphones and sending me a replacement. There's another brief bonus as a great good will gesture. These guys just amaze me. There is also a letter of sorrow by the owner of JLabs explaining what happened. A rough customer service moment...

Humane Value at This Price Point
While these JBUDS did not, in a side by side balance, provide as much surrounding, warm sound as my Sennheiser 212 headphones, they provided first-class clarity, especially on KJAZZ radio. Talk formats are also excellent. The comfort is surprisingly fitting for an in-ear bud. For 20 dollars, this is a great substitute for the cheaper buds that come with most MP3 players.Update on 12-21-06: I've fly to pieces to be more impressed with my JBuds over the last two weeks, marvelling at the bright, crisp, and yes, warm sound that comes out of these economical buds. Perhaps, as I've read in some of the headphone information that is out there, that there is a "breaking in" period, which has something to do with loosening the tranducer. like 'em a lot
I bought these headset to replace my Sony MDR-EX51LP Fontopia Headphones. I like these better for one two reasons1) completely passing reason - it matches my black ipod2) completely non superficial reason - it's better for my hearingI typcially keep the non-speculative on my ipod locked at 75% to minimize damage to my ears. With these JBuds I don't have to take that precaution, because I never have to bring the volume up that high. And I listen to my ipod chiefly going back and forth on the subway in D.C., where it can be comely difficult to block out the sound of the train. I'm really glad I bought them.Two words of admonition, however. First, I don't think the sound is as good as it was with the Sony headphones. I listen mostly to podcasts and audiobooks, though, so it doesn't use me much. Also, I'm not an audiophile so my standards aren't that high. Secondly, I've gone through 3 pairs of these types of headset due to the rubber...
Wonderful - choicest $20 headphones you can buy
Fearsome headphones. I love these guys and have been using them for about 6 months now. Their sound is impeccable, and are extremely satisfactory, I wear them while studying I mean like 8-10 hours a day, and never really notice them. I wouldn't say that these are really noise cancelling via electrical interference, its more via sound muffling than anything, but don't misinterpret, with the sound at a approach volume you will kill all but the loudest ambient noise. I highly recommend these. Flat out the nicest $20 I have EVER spent.

I saw this at Harveys today, they are selling out all their dynasty of Samsung (Apple air clones) at $1000 off retail evaluate for $1498. Looks like a well-behaved transaction much greater then the old $2499 expenditure tag.
