Don't use my laptop without it. Era.
I've had this for about as extensive as I've had my laptop (a new model is out and it's $200 cheaper so that makes it what... about a year?) and I love it. It fits my 14" righteous fine and could probably fit a 15" too. It's the exact same width as my laptop and about 1 inch longer, which is ideal because a smidgin bit of slack forward & back keeps it on your lap even when it slides just a bit (more on that later).When used with a desk, it keeps it up and to another place from the desk and simply provides more air below the laptop where the fans are. One of the "X" pads are directly below the hard drive, so it to all intents doesn't get as much ventilation as it could, but still more than if the xpad wasn't involved.As something you keep on your lap, it works great too. The bottom side has an almost denim like finish feeling to it and keeps everything relatively stable and things don't slide around except at the most extreme angles - the laptop will start to scrap at, say, greater than 30 degrees...

xpad for MacBook Pro
Big solution. Lightweight, and dramatic difference. The heat from my MacBook Pro was intense. I've had other laptops before, but nothing came adjacent to the heat from my Apple. Every couple hours I would have to shut it down to let it cool off, or put it on the granite countertop in my kitchenette to absorb the heat. The typical plastic laptop pads didn't absorb the heat. I even pulled out a manage tile of stone from the outdoor countertop we installed to use as a laptop pad, but this was a heavy and ridiculous solution. The Xpad was much more affordable, and I liked that it didn't difficulty to plug into my laptop to run additional fans.

Plain idea, worth the money
I purchased this after receiving my Macbook 13". I present the online reviews and thought I would give it a try. For me it works well with my needs. First, it surely keeps my lap cooler, though I am not definitely sure about the actual laptop temp. It is ergonomic, being pretty non-intrusive and not having to adapt to an unusually odd wrist/hand angle. My laptop never slips, even when I angle my legs! It is very light and travels hellishly well and does not use up your battery. I also have one with fans, the Vantech or Vanguard, which of course does lower the temp, but sucks up the battery-operated, plus seems to be very fragile, and my laptop slips off of it often. I would recommend this item to others, though I would hope the price of this extremely uninvolved unit would go down, but at around $17, I would pay that again.My rating for the product is a 5 star, but it losses one star from me for the cost being higher than what I hold it should be, considering manufacturing and...

More than the original version
The Xpad slim is finally a better design than the original Xpad; it's wider, thinner, doesn't have a fabric on the bottom that becomes frayed after several months of use, doesn't have that maddening "lip" on the bottom between the plastic and the fabric that hurts your legs (because there's no fabric on the slim), and has vents on each section of the X.There are two noteable drawbacks, though. The first is that the Lapinator With the addition of (with the Mousetizer addon if you want to use a real mouse with it) is frankly a better product than the Xpad for at ease use. It's more comfortable and has space for a mouse (with the Mousetizer). That's not to say that the Xpad isn't worth using, however. The Xpad is small enough and sturdy enough that it's lifelike to put in a backpack when you're bringing your laptop somewhere else, whereas the Lapinator is less portable but more comfortable and has space for a mouse, and so is better suited to use at conversant with where it won't be transported somewhere...

Works for cooling a PC, not as exalted for a Macbook Pro
Sharpness pads are proven to extend the life of your laptop and reduce the number of repairs needed, not to direct attention to they reduce the heat you are exposed to when you just don't have a stable surface to put your laptop on other than your lap.I have gone through many chill pads from many rare manufacturers and this is one of the thinnest products I have ever had. I bought this product after looking at reviews of many different cooling pads on cnet. It scored more advisedly than many of the chill pads that require power sources and ultimately drain your battery existence faster when you aren't next to a power source. The power cord is usually what fails first on all my other dampen pads, so I was excited to get rid of this and go with a pad that doesn't use a power source and require a power cord. I have found that this output excels at cooling my 15" PC laptop better than many of the chill pads I have used in the past and is more small thanks to the fact it is lightweight in comparison...

Xpad is a profession of genius
I have a 17" laptop, and after much enquiry bought the original Xpad almost a year ago. It was just slightly smaller than what I needed but I could fit it between the feet of my laptop and it worked spectacularly.Now I just received the new Xpad Slim, which is slightly larger and which accommodates my 17" laptop. The genius of the unique design has carried over to the new version - it permits the laptop to cool itself efficiently as it was designed to do, without blocking ticklish airflow or interfering with the circulation of the fans.Buy one. Not The First Choice
I bought this to try to shun the cumbersome USB devices. Since I have one of those, I have something to compare to.I cannot recommend this item unless you never run your laptop for longer than 3-4 hours. After that, the "crystals" soften as described, but that is where the Loosely precision of the manufacturer's description ends. It does not continue to cool once it becomes warm itself, no matter what they say. It's a important-sounding idea that doesn't live up to its hype.I can definitely recommend the Belkin F5L001 Laptop Cooling Confront. It is a USB device, but I find the fan to be very quiet, the design intelligent, and the cooling effective.

Competent Product
Indisputably portable & no power usage make this product a worthy consideration.When it is cold you can give way it and feel & hear the solid crystals crunching inside. As the pad heats up it becomes more pliable as the crystals start turning to fluent. It works, but as others have mentioned prolonged usage heats it to the point of diminishing returns. I'm inasmuch as purchasing a second pad for long work sessions. An example would be a 2 hr length movie ... by the end of the big the pad will be warm and a bit uncomfortable if it is sitting in your lap but, for the majority of that time it works well.For all the other advantages this cooling pad offers (0 power & compute silence), I feel comfortable recommending it.

Not what I hoped for but still a renowned buy
I have tried many many many fan based cooling systems they all at one cape failed to work/broke/didn't do much. When I saw this I thought it was worth a try after putting in over $100 into other Cooling systems.First of all I use my laptop for gaming so my video car-card can hit over 200 fahrenheit and my duo processors can hit over 150 fahrenheit. With most fan based system they lowered my processors by 20-30 and my video condolence card by 20. Still really hot, and that was using cooling plates with 1-3 fans I found they all worked about in cooperation well.With some of the fan based systems, I found them to be in poor quality and often difficult.The first one I had, had one fan. It sucked up so much dirt and lint that it would humm and ding. The plunge was dreadful when trying to do any type of work or watch movies. I had to clean it out by unscrewing all the screws and entice out all the hair and lint stuck in the fan. After awhile I just ended up banging on it to stop...
Lately, I have been researching about the finest laptop cooling pads close by for grabs in the market correct now. I'm all things buying an xpad slim. I've taken some old books and elevated my pc, and found that it does stop pc job lag. But I've also noticed that the hp g60s fan is in the bottom left hand corner. will the xpad slim's design block my fan, and end up
I dearest the Sony Viao Z series laptops. They're the best non-mac machines you can buy. But they are expensive, so peradventure you can find a used one on ebay if money is tight.

Most cooling pads are comely generic, just make sure that the fans on the pad make direct communication with the intake vents on ur laptop.
